I began in 2009 volunteering in animal rescue. That turned into employment at different non profit organizations cooperating with shelters to care for, rehabilitate in some cases, and ultimately rehome dogs and cats. Through those experiences I learned a lot about the nature of the dog, forgiving, resilient and tolerant. Most of the dogs I met had landed where they were due to unmet expectations and common behavior issues. In an effort to build a small training program that helped channel some of that energy while teaching some basic manners, I learned a lot about how to potentially keep them in their homes to begin with.
In 2014 I changed gears and started to assist, and then teach, private and group lessons at a local training facility with an awesome and inspiring team. I have really enjoyed the people and dogs that I have met and sharing in their journey together. I have also learned a lot from those relationships and aim to apply the basic principles and ideologies to support my personal and professional endeavors.
